The Local Governance Act permits municipalities to enact by-laws for the good of the community.
The Town of Bouctouche’s by-laws are adopted by Town Council at public meetings. The procedure for adopting a new by-law consists of a motion followed by three readings of the by-law, followed by adoption.
Should you wish to obtain an official version of a by-law, you must refer to the paper version available at the Clerk’s Office. This version takes precedence over the electronic version.
Please note that some of our by-laws and policies are written in French only.
