Fire Department
The Fire Department provides emergency services to Bouctouche residents in terms of employing all staff, acquiring all equipment necessary to extinguish fires, and offering emergency rescue services. The department is also responsible for the maintenance and periodic testing of all equipment and department vehicles, in addition to offering fire prevention education and awareness programs. The Bouctouche volunteer firefighters’ association has three fire trucks, a rescue unit, a rescue boat, and extraction tools.
Safety and Protection Services
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police is responsible for providing policing services, and has a mandate to serve and protect both the people of Bouctouche and visitors to the area. The Criminal Investigation Division of the RCMP is responsible for conducting all investigations and offering specialized support services to all operational services and units. The Patrol and Intervention Division offers 24-hour protection and prevention service, and provides police dog services, marine patrols and tactical intervention. The Community and Employee Services Division is responsible for all crime prevention and public education programs.
